1.What is The Metro? 
It is a patented drinks serving device which allows parties to fill their own glasses at their table or at the bar. In the shape of a vertical transparent tube with a tap it attracts attention, is portable, permits self-service and is fun to use. In business terms it increases drinks turnover and reduces staff requirements in any venue where draught drink is served.
2.How does it work?
The Metro comes in two parts that fit together: A tube with an attached tap and a portable base. The bar attendant fills the tube from a dispenser or from bottles. The customer carries the tube full of drink and fits it into the base at the chosen drinking location (bar, table, shelf). All members of the group can take turns to fill their own glasses. The tap swivels horizontally to aid self-service. All the bar management has to do afterwards is retrieve the empty Metro for cleaning and re-use.
3.So, what is the advantage over a jug or a pitcher?
Firstly it looks a lot more impressive and attracts attention. Secondly it empties faster: Everyone wants to have a go at pulling the tap and watching that level go down!
4.How sizes are there?
"Metro" is available in three sizes:
· "Metro" 2.5 L. Height 0.76 m
· "Metro" 3.5 L. Height 0.93 m
· "Metro" 5 L. Height 1.26 m
5.How does the ice sleeve work?
The ice sleeve is a simple and practical means of keeping the contents of the Metro dispenser cool for longer periods of time. The ice sleeve is frozen before use and then slipped over the tube, thus reducing the temperature of the drink inside. Also, the slight condensation produced on the outside of the ice sleeve conveys an attractive sense of freshness.
6.What type of drink can you serve out of it?
Any type of drink, carbonated or non-carbonated, with the exception of undiluted spirits. Typically The Metro is used with beer, cider, wine, soft drinks, cocktails and cocktail shots.
7.If I fill The Metro from a beer tap how do I prevent foaming? (metered only)
First cool the tube by rinsing briefly with cold water. Then fill at the beer tap whilst holding the tube at an angle as if it were a long glass. Allow the nozzle of the beer tap to gently come into contact with the inside of the tube. The beer will slide down the inner surface without breaking into foam. You can end the filling process by adding a touch of foam at the top for visual effect.
8.How stable is it?
Very. All models and sizes are completely stable thanks to the specially designed base. The base is made out of injected plastic with an encapsulated metal weight in the centre of gravity.
9.Is it tricky to carry when full?
No. Carry the tube at an angle by placing one hand beneath the tap and the other around the top of the tube and you will be able to carry The Metro with ease and safety.
10.How do you clean it?
After use, rinse abundantly and make water flow through the tap. Clean the inside of the tube with warm water, conventional dishwashing liquid and our specially designed brush (go to 'accessories & spares'). The Easywash Hose, which includes universal water tap adapters, is supplied as an optional rinsing accessory.
11.Is it hygienic?
Yes, very. No part is ever in contact with the user's mouth. All components, including the tap are easy to clean or rinse through. If necessary The Metro can be completely and easily dismantled for thorough washing. All parts are constructed out of materials approved for food use.
12.What is it made from?
The tube is Perspex, which is six times stronger than glass! The base is injected polystyrene. The tap, the tube connector, the tap adapter and the cap are polypropylene. The seals are non-toxic silicon. All these materials conform to Food Safety Regulations.
13.What happens if the Perspex tube or any other component breaks?
The Metro is designed for prolonged use in busy bars and is made out of specially durable components. However, if any component accidentally breaks or fails due to wear, it can be purchased as a spare for immediate substitution. (Go to 'accessories & spares')
14.How many units does a bar or restaurant need?
It depends on the average rotation of customers and how big the bar is, but you will need more than one! Space should not be a problem as a Metro fits on a 27 cm-sided triangular surface.
15.Can The Metro be branded?
Of course. The three sides of the base are specially designed to support silk-screened or vinyl decoration, visible around 360 degrees. This is an effective low-cost option to promote your brand on The Metro. We can also produce the base in your brand's exact colour or apply logo stickers to the tube. (Go to 'point of sale')
16.Do you have a user manual?
Yes, each dispenser comes complete with a User Manual in nine languages, covering all aspects of use of the "Metro": Filling, use, cleaning, maintenance, commercial support and manufacturer's details. (Go to 'user manual')
17.Who invented this product?
The Metro was invented, designed, developed, manufactured and patented as a world novelty by the two founding members and proprietors of the company Iniciativas y Proyectos Hosteleros S.L. Since March 1995 (when the patent was presented) this company has devoted itself exclusively to the manufacture of The Metro dispenser and its accessories. It is therefore guaranteed that The Metro is the original and authentic self-dispense tower for drinks.
